Dr Pia Touboul Lundgren works in the Nice University Hospital Public Health Department where she has been involved in a long-term surveillance of antimicrobial resistance among colonizing pathogens in children’s day-care centres, and the coordination of an intervention using academic detailing to promote prudent antibiotic use in the area in outpatient care. She is the national French coordinator of the e-Bug project where she participated actively in all the different stages of the project, coordinated the socio cultural and educational adaptation of the tools as well as the evaluation involving teachers and students. She has also been involved in several other European projects targeting antibiotic use such as GRACE, CHAMP and TRACE and different infections such as CATTE targeting Chlamydia screening and ALIC4E targeting flu management. She has conducted many qualitative studies in various research fields and is a tutor for medical students’ theses as well as for European GP student exchanges. She is conducting qualitative research with a European team concerning the cultural aspects of Antibiotic use. Dr Pia Touboul Lundgren travaille au Département de Santé Publique au CHU de Nice où elle a été impliquée dans la surveillance épidémiologique du portage microbien des enfants en crèche et la résistance bactérienne aux antibiotiques. Elle a participé à la coordination d’une campagne pilote de santé publique concernant le bon usage des antibiotiques en soins primaires, par visite confraternelle. Elle est le coordinateur national du projet e-Bug depuis le début du projet et a participé activement à toutes les différentes étapes du projet telles que les états de lieux, l’adaptation aux conditions socioculturelles et d’enseignement en France, l’évaluation auprès des enseignants et des élèves et la réédition. Ce projet fait partie des différents Plans d’Alertes sur les Antibiotiques de la DGS. Elle a également coordonné la participation française à d’autre projets Européens concernant l’utilisation d’antibiotiques tels que GRACE, CHAMP et TRACE et concernant différentes infections tels que le projet CATTE sur le dépistage de Chlamydia et ALIC4E sur la prise en charge de la grippe en soins primaires. Elle a été impliqué dans de nombreuses études qualitatives concernant des problématiques variées et encadre des étudiants en médecine en cours de thèse au Département d’Enseignement et de Recherche en Médecine Générale à l’Université de Nice Sophia Antipolis ainsi que des étudiants Européens lors de stages de recherche. Elle s’intéresse particulièrement aux aspects culturels de l’utilisation d’antibiotique et une recherche qualitative est en cours avec une équipe Européenne.

Former head of the Infectious Diseases Department Pierre obtained his professorship from Nice University in 1981. Throughout the course of his research career Pierre has specialised in paediatrics, internal medicine and exotic medicine. He wass also the Director, of the Laboratory of Antibiotic research examining antibiotics-bactericidal activity, bacterial antibiotic resistance and responsible for training courses in antibiotics and immune depression and tropical medicine. He is currently consultant at Nice University Hospital, a member of the American Society of microbiology and a member of the Antibiotics Commission of the Ministry of Health. Pierre Dellamonica était Chef de service du service de Maladies infectieuses du CHU de Nice et Professeur universitaire depuis 1981. Durant sa carrière il s’est spécialisé en pédiatrie, médecine interne et maladies infectieuses et tropicales. Il était le Directeur du laboratoire de recherche en Antibiologie où il a travaillé sur l’activité bactéricide des antibiotiques et la résistance bactérienne aux antibiotiques et était responsable des DU d’Antibiologie, d’Immunodépression et de Médecine tropicale. Actuellement, consultant du CHU de Nice, Pierre Dellamonica est membre de la Société américaine de microbiologie et de la Commission des différents Plans d’Alertes sur les Antibiotiques de la DGS.

Dr Brigitte Dunais worked in Nice University Hospital Public Health Department where she has been involved in long-term surveillance of antimicrobial resistance among colonizing respiratory pathogens in children’s daycare centres, and the planning and implementation of an intervention promoting prudent antibiotic use in the area. Dr Dunais contributed to the French translation of the e-Bug educational material. In parallel, she has been working on HIV and HCV clinical research projects conducted by the French national AIDS research agency. She also has an interest in travel medicine and vaccinology. Currently she continues to be involved in the e-Bug project on a free-lance basis. Dr Brigitte Dunais a travaillé au Département de Santé Publique au CHU de Nice où elle a été impliquée dans la surveillance épidémiologique du portage microbien des enfants en crèche et la résistance bactérienne aux antibiotiques. Elle a participé à la coordination d’une campagne pilote de santé publique concernant le bon usage des antibiotiques en soins primaires, par visite confraternelle. Elle a contribué à la traduction française des outils e-Bug. En parallèle, elle a travaillé sur des projets de recherche clinique concernant le VIH et l’hépatite C. Elle s’intéresse ainsi à la médecine du voyageur et à la vaccinologie. Actuellement, auto entrepreneuse, elle continue à s’impliquer dans le projet e-Bug.
